Historic Cottage Rentals on the Skootamatta River
Located only 2 hours from Toronto, Bridgewater Retreat, holds over 200 years of small town Ontario History.
Here you can stay on the 7 Acre Property, home to the Skootamatta River, with a mix of rushing rapids and a calm private beach boasting crystal clear water and a sandy bottom.
On site we have kayaks, canoes and pedal boats for you to take out and enjoy.
Take a boat out or stand on the shoreline to enjoy some of Ontario’s great fishing.
The location was once home to a gold mine, so keep an eye out for anything shiny!
We want you to feel like this is your home away from home, where you can enjoy the outdoors in peace.
So enjoy the retreat, or check out the beautiful surrounding area, either way you will not be disappointed.
We offer individual bookings, group bookings, and the entire retreat, keep an eye out for our event packages coming soon.
Two Hundred Years of History
The land was originally settled in 1859 during the Ontario Gold Rush, and later converted into the Schneider School of Fine Arts in the 1960's.
Artist from all over the world would come to this serine location to learn from each other while taking in the natural beauty. Much of the art still hangs on the walls on the property.
We want to invite you to join us in becoming apart of history!
